Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate Review: A Must-Watch Gujarati Spiritual Drama Breaking Box Office Records
Our Review:
Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate is a spiritual drama with elements of a thriller that focuses on the theme of discovering one’s lost self. The film’s first half is almost near-perfect, with brilliant direction from Ankit Sakhiya. The music of the film serves as its soul. The symbolism and focus-pulling techniques stand out throughout the film. However, the second half dips slightly due to some pacing issues. It leans more on conversations where silence speaks louder than words, but a few of those moments could have been executed better. The “Mann Mohan” song, though beautiful, feels a little stretched within the screenplay.
Coming to the performances, Karan Joshi, in his debut, delivers an outstanding performance and kudos to Ankit for allowing Karan’s eyes to do the talking whenever required. Reeva Rachh is brilliant as Tulsi & truly shines in the interval sequence. Shruhad Goswami impresses with his simple yet effective delivery. The rest of the cast does a decent job, and the humor is well-integrated. While the second half takes a few clichéd turns, the film ultimately succeeds in touching you emotionally. Overall, Laalo is a winner for Gujarati cinema & definitely deserves a theatrical watch. Don’t miss out on the end-credit song, you’ll definitely find yourself doing Garba!
