Stree 2 Review: Blockbuster written all over it
Stree 2 is an absolute laugh riot. The film carries the story forward from where it left off, blending horror, comedy, and drama to deliver what audiences wanted. The first half of the film is a banger, with its comedy and genuine jump scares. The dialogues and punches will make you laugh continuously. Technical elements, including the camerawork and sound design, create the perfect environment for this one. However, the second half, though good, falls short of the fun that the first half had. It dips post-interval but picks up with cameos and a good, though slightly stretched, climax. The CGI is also hit or miss in some places.
Rajkummar Rao delivers a mad performance. From dialogue delivery to body language, he gives the role exactly what it needed. Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee provide very good support. Shraddha does a commendable job, though her screen time felt limited. Aparshakti is good too. Their camaraderie steals the show. The connections with the horror universe are smoothly and cleverly integrated. The music of the film is okay, with a few songs that really stand out. Overall, the film is a solid sequel to its predecessor and is undoubtedly one of the best horror comedies in Bollywood.
